Gender equality is essential for global development and poverty reduction, and therefore gender equality permeates all the Global Goals. Working for women and girls' opportunities to contribute on equal terms with men and boys is an end in itself, but it is also a way of utilizing the resources of the entire nation and thus increasing economic prosperity. Gertrud Åström has worked as a state investigator with a focus on gender equality and has been chairman of Sweden's Women's Lobby. In this podcast, Åström talks about global political gender equality work and how a feminist perspective contributes to a better understanding of global development.
