The writers
FUF's writers write texts about various global issues for Uttvecklingsmagasinet. In this way, they participate and increase knowledge about global issues and Sweden's role in the world.
As a writer, you get to do interviews, write different types of journalistic texts and monitor the debate on global issues in the Swedish media. The writers receive continuous training and supervision - both in subjects connected to global development and in journalistic writing and communication. They are also part of an editorial team that encourages, supports and gets to know each other!
You can be an active writer no matter where in Sweden you live. The commitment is semester-long and usually starts in January and September. The assignment includes participating in training courses, editorial meetings and proofreading other writers' texts.
You do not need any previous knowledge to join the editorial staff, we train you during the assignment!
FUF works according to the model learning-by-doing, which means you start producing material right after the first kick-off meeting.
The assignment runs on a semester basis and during the semester you are expected to:

write 3–5 texts for Utvecklingsmagasinet (number of texts varies from semester to semester)
- use FUF's guides

participate in all start-up and editorial meetings
- provide constructive feedback when proofreading your editorial colleagues' texts
We therefore expect you to:

follows deadlines and communicates actively with the editor and the rest of the editorial team

produce material as above and provide constructive feedback to your correspondent
If you meet these expectations, you will qualify for a certificate of non-profit commitment at the end of the semester.
Editorial meetings
The editorial team meets approximately every three weeks for editorial meetings with a focus on conversation, exchange of ideas and further education. Those who live in the Stockholm area participate on site at FUF's premises at Medborgarplatsen. Those who live elsewhere participate digitally via Teams. Since the meetings are held in a hybrid format, everyone is expected to bring a computer, be connected via the meeting link and have their camera turned on. In group work, participants collaborate on site and remotely.
