Ungdomsorganisationen Push Sverige var på plats på COP24 i förra veckan. Men de kände sig inte särskilt välkomna.

Civilsamhällets medverkan på klimattoppmötet i Polen, COP24, har mötts av ovilja och ointresse. Det har varit svårt att få boende, tillträde till förhandlingarna och till och med att komma in i landet för vissa. Politikernas ovilja att lyssna är tydlig, trots att det är vår framtid de äventyrar, skriver ungdomsorganisationen PUSH Sverige.

50 000 kvinnor i världen dör varje år av våld i nära relationer och 104 länder i världen har lagar som hindrar kvinnor från att ta vissa jobb. Samtidigt finns initiativ av kvinnliga jordbrukare och sexarbetare som kräver sina rättigheter och av män som utbildar i antivåld. FUF:s lokalgrupp i Lund har gjort ett helt magasin om genus och utveckling – helt på engelska.

The Istanbul Convention is a legal framework that seeks to prevent and combat violence against women. In Russia, where it is estimated that 14,000 women die every year as a result of domestic violence, the signing and ratification of the Convention is an urgent matter. But instead, last year Russia chose to decriminalise some forms of domestic violence.
