Imorgon ska EU rösta om att slå ihop flera olika program för finansiering av utrikes- och utvecklingssamarbete. Det kan göra så att fokus skiftar från fattigdomsbekämpning till att värna EU:s egna intressen. EU:s biståndspengar ska inte gå till försvarsändamål eller till att stoppa flyktingar vid gränserna, skriver miljöpartisten Bodil Valero.

I veckan samlades EU:s stats- och regeringschefer i Salzburg för att diskutera migrationen. Den svenska debatten har således präglats av olika åsikter kring vilken linje Sverige ska ta i frågan. Medan vissa vill att ansvaret ska delas mellan EU:s medlemsstater menar andra att det är bättre att fokusera på att rusta upp EU:s gränser.
