Gotlands nation and FUF Uppsala (The Swedish Development Forum’s local group) invite you to our Clothing Swap Day nr 11 (also called Nordic Swap Day) to find your perfect Uni wardrobe! During the clothing-swap, you can also try FUF Uppsala’s quiz about sustainable consumption and production. Put yourself out there, talk to us and rise your awareness on the topic! Highest scores will win a little surprise at the end 🙂
What can a Clothing Swap Day contribute with?
People are shopping far too much, and it affects the environment and all life in different ways around the world. The wear-and-tear-trend is not durable. But as a broke Uni student you still want to have a fun wardrobe. A Clothing Swap Day is a fun, social and free activity, which gives concrete environmental benefit.
If you do not know what to wear, if you have clothes at home that you are tired of or no longer fit into, you now have the chance to refresh your wardrobe or maybe find something to give to a friend or family. It’s a win-win concept!
Information
- Date: Sunday 12/11
- Time: Submission between 13:00 – 15:00, exchange between 17:00 and 18:00
- The submission takes place in the room called Gulan
- It’s free and no nation card is required to enter
- You are allowed to bring unlimited amount of clothes, BUT you can only get 10 tickets. One garment corresponds to one ticket
- We only accept clothing (indoor garments and outwear), bags/backpacks and shoes, everything must be fresh and whole – Garments that nobody picks will be donated to Röda Korsets second hand shop (you will not get your clothes back)
- Tip: Jakens Café (our nation café) will also be open for you to buy fika, open between 12:00 – 15:00. There will be both food and dessert options to choose from. More info at www.facebook.com/helgfika/ or Instagram @jakenscafe
About FUF Uppsala
The Swedish Development Forum’s (FUF’s) local group in Uppsala consists of young people and students in Uppsala who, through our membership in FUF, want to increase our own and others’ knowledge about global challenges and injustices. In the past, FUF’s local group in Uppsala has organized lectures and film screenings about, for example, the protests in Iran, climate change in Latin America, the illegal deforestation of the Amazon and the criminalization of women’s bodies through the abolition of the right to abortion. FUF is a non-profit organisation.
