Klimatförändringar är idag ett av de största hoten mot global utveckling. Alla världens regioner och befolkningar drabbas. Hur påverkas specifikt regionen Latinamerika och Karibien? Hur kan anpassningen till klimatförändringarna se ut och hur kan de negativa konsekvenserna motverkas?
I en digital föreläsning med FUF Uppsala berättar Tania Guillén Bolaños om hur klimatförändringarna påverkar Latinamerika och Karibien samt vilken politik och vilka handlingar som krävs för att anpassa sig till och motverka klimatförändringarna.
Tania Guillén Bolaños är forskare inom utvärdering av adaption vid Climate Service Center Germany (GERICS). Hon har bland annat deltagit som forskare och författare i förberedelsen av den speciella rapporten om “Global uppvärmning 1,5 grader” från the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). Hon har en kandidatexamen i Environmental Quality Engineering från Universidad Centroamericana (UCA, Nicaragua) och en masterexamen i naturresurs-management och teknologi från the Cologne University of Applied Sciences (TH-Köln, Tyskland).

Climate change is one of the biggest threats to global development today, and all regions and populations of the world are affected. How is Latin America and the Caribbean region specifically affected? How can the adaptation to climate change look and how can the negative consequences be counteracted?
In a lecture with FUF Uppsala, Tania Guillén Bolaños explains how climate change affects Latin America and the Caribbean as well as which policies and actions that are required in order to adapt to and counteract global warming.
Tania Guillén Bolaños is a Ph.D. researcher on evaluation of adaptation at the Climate Service Center Germany (GERICS). She has participated in the preparation of the special report on ”Global Warming of 1.5ºC” of the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) as chapter scientist, contributing author, and drafting author of the Summary for Policy Makers (SPM). She holds a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Quality Engineering from the Universidad Centroamericana (UCA, Nicaragua) and a master’s degree in natural resource management and technology from the Cologne University of Applied Sciences (TH-Köln, Germany)
The lecture will last about an hour followed by 15 minutes for questions. The event will be held in English and on Zoom.
