FUF Lund and Medborgarskolan invite you to our new book club!
The book club is for everyone who enjoys reading, discussing books with others, and is interested in global development topics. The books are chosen by the group from a list of suggestions and can be novels, non-fiction, biographies, or other texts which are related to development questions.
The goal of the book club is to inspire people to read more, spread awareness about important issues, widen our horizon, spark interest, deepen knowledge and give space for lively discussions!
The language of discussions is English, books can be read in any chosen language available.
We are going to meet every other Wednesday, starting September 21, 17.30-19.00, Medborgarskolan, Bangatan 6, Lund. The book club will continue until January 15th 2023 (with a break for Christmas in December). On the first meeting we will decide over the books we are going to read, get to know each other, read, and discuss a relevant article. You can sign up for the book club here.
Book suggestions (other suggestions can be added by the group members):
- No Logo, Naomi Klein
- Shuggie Bain, Douglas Stuart
- The Culture Map, Erin Meyer
- Caste: The Origin of our Discontent, Isabel Wilkerson
- Not Forgetting the Whale, John Ironmonger
The book club is a collaboration between FUF Lund and Medborgarskolan.
