We only have nine years left to prevent irreversible damage from climate change and build a sustainable future for us and future generations. But what kind of attempts are actually being made by governments to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals of the Global Agenda 2030? How can we contribute to the mitigation of and adaptation to climate change both individually and as a society?
As we celebrate Earth Day on the 22th of April, FUF Stockholm Södra would like to invite you to a two-day event with the theme ‘Sustainability: Economical, Ecological and Social Perspectives’ on the 28th and 29th April. During these two days we will discuss challenges relating to climate change and learn from experts who are working in the sustainability field as well as from each other. Programme:
Day 1: Wednesday, April 28
🌱 Session 1 – 12:00-13:30 CEST – Deforestation and food production: Lunch talk with SIDA & Framtidsjorden
– Maria Osbeck, SIDA, will talk about deforestation in the context of development cooperation.
– Linn Rabe, Framtidsjorden, will raise the global rights perspective with a focus on food production.
Day 2: Thursday, April 29
🌱 Session 2 – 14:00-15:00 CEST – What’s Next After School: Building A Career in Sustainability
– Richard Munang, UN Environment Programme (UNEP, Kenya), will talk about how you can find a job within the sustainability field after graduation.
Towards the end of each presentation, the speakers will answer questions from the participants and open up for a wider discussion within the group.
The event is moderated by FUF Stockholm Södra’s event group and held digitally on Zoom in English. Registration can be done until the event time to receive the link for participation.

🗣 About the speakers:
Maria Osbeck: Maria is a Senior Advisor on Environment and Climate at the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA). Maria holds a MSc in Rural Development from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences. She has eighteen years of professional experience in development and environment work, with ten years based in Africa and Asia.
Linn Rabe: Linn works as Education and Communication officer at Framtidsjorden. Framtidsjorden collaborates with environmental organizations in Latin America and South Asia to improve the conditions for local sustainable development. Linn holds a PhD in Environmental Science from Södertörns Högskola.
Richard Munang: Richard is the Regional Climate Change Coordinator for Africa at the UN Environment Programme (UNEP). He guides the actualization of UNEP’s climate resilient development strategy for Africa in a manner that ensures human wellbeing.
