The proportion of Swedish aid that goes to sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) has decreased by 35 percent since 2018according to a new report from RFSU. The development magazine has spoken w/ Liberian Amplifying R Network (ARN) and with svenska RFSL om the cuts consequences.

Last week's discussions on global issues on Swedish debate and editorial pages have been dominated by the crisis in Gaza. Critics argue that the Swedish government should do more to stop starvation and bloodshed, while responsible ministers point to dialogues and aid volumes. Other texts draw attention to the effects of Europe's energy and technology dependence on authoritarian states, and Trump's foreign and trade policies continue to be the subject of criticism.

In April, we met the Congolese government and the M23 rebel group forfirst time in an official call on the conditions for a ceasefire in eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). Despite the efforts of various actors, it is now clear that further talks between them are postponed to the future. At the same time, continued strife to spä on the wholeannual humanitarian crisis in the country.
