Our local group FUF Stockholm Södra organizes a full day of digital events with the theme "Women's History Month: Living in Crisis and Conflict" on the 30th of March. The event is going to be held in two sessions with three speakers, at 12:00 pm and at 18:00 pm
PROGRAM
Session 1: Gendered perspectives from Uganda & Bangladesh 12: 00-13: 30 pm CET
Ulrika Blom, Norwegian refugee council, Uganda and Åsa Torkelsson, UNFPA representative for Bangladesh.
Session 2: Deviant yet banal: wartime sexual violence, 18.00-19.00 pm CET
Angela Muvumba Sellström, the Nordic Africa Institute
During the event, Ulrika Blom and Åsa Torkelsson will hold the session together about their tasks in each country, in connection with women in crisis and conflict. Angela Muvumba Sellström will talk about the patterns of sexual violence during wartime with the country's focus from Afghanistan to Sudan. At the end of the presentations, the speakers will answer the participants' questions and open up for a discussion.

About the speakers:
Ulrika Blom is the Country Director at the Norwegian Refugee Council in Uganda. As a Country Director, she also worked in other countries such as Lebanon, Pakistan, and South Sudan.
Åsa Torkelsson is the UNFPA representative for Bangladesh and also worked as an economic empowerment adviser at UN Women.
Angela Muvumba Sellström is a senior researcher in conflict and security at the Nordic Africa Institute and affiliated to Uppsala University's Department of Peace and Conflict Research.
The event is moderated by FUF Stockholm Södra's event group and held digitally at Zoom in English. Registration can be done until the event time to receive the link for participation.
