Evaluating aid in change

Sweden is one of the countries in Europe where far-reaching changes in aid and foreign policy are taking place as a result of, among other things, the war in Ukraine, geopolitical changes and the green transition. In December, the government launched the so-called reform agenda for aid, which affects the orientation and conditions not only for civil society, but also for the state institutions. One of these is EBA - the Expert Group for Aid Analysis - which is a government committee that independently analyzes and evaluates Sweden's international aid with the aim of improving and developing it.

On 11 April, EBA's head of office will visit Jan Pettersson FUF for a breakfast conversation led by FUF's board member Lennart Wohlgemuth to talk about how he sees the EBA's role in a changing world situation and with new political priorities. What leeway does the expert group have, and what is its most important task going forward? We also get the opportunity to talk about how the development of aid policy in Sweden compares to other countries in Europe, and what the new political directions mean for the purpose of the aid.

Registration for the call is made via this link no later than April 10.

The seminar will be streamed live via our YouTube channel Fool play.

For information, the venue is half a flight of stairs down without a lift and unfortunately there is no ear loop in the venue.
