Like other countries in the world, China has developed and been influenced by other nations as well as contemporary happenings. Join us on an evening seminar to discuss the geopolitical and economic development of China in relation to its global context.
For this we will have Hans Hägerdal, our guest for the evening, who has written the book “Kinas historia” (The history of China) where he explains how China has developed throughout time. Hans, as a professor of history at Linnaeus University, took his PhD degree in Lund studying the development of Western sinology during the 19th and 20th centuries. Here he has mainly focused on colonial encounters and contact zones in East and Southeast Asia.
