Migration is a lottery for both migrants and countries

Of: Kenneth Hermele

The fact that people are migrating is positive. Both the countries from which the migrants come and the countries from which they move benefit from the migration. But there are also several obstacles that hinder development, writes economist Kenneth Hermele.

Labor immigration - for the world's poor

Of: Matthias Goldmann

Remittances are an important and effective tool in the fight against poverty. Therefore, we who defend global solidarity and international development cooperation should take action against the attempts to limit labor immigration that we are now seeing from certain parties and trade unions. It writes Mattias Goldmann, CEO of the think tank Fores.

Swedish aid should have democracy and human rights Swedish aid should have democracy and human rights as its starting point and goal. At least 1% of gross national income (GNI) should be allocated to international aid. This is what the Christian Democrats write on their website. At the same time, the Tidö government has reduced aid and stated that Sweden's international aid should benefit Swedish interests. Now the comrades in the Tidö Cooperation are also talking about further cuts to the aid budget. Why should Sweden have aid and how far are the Christian Democrats willing to compromise with aid? These are some of the questions we ask when FUF continues our Instagram Live series where we ask the parliamentary parties' aid policy spokespersons what their parties want with aid. In the sixth conversation in the series, we question the Christian Democrats' Gudrun Brunegård, member of parliament and aid policy spokesperson. 📅 September 8 🕐 14:00 📍Instagram Live @fuf.se The conversation can also be watched afterwards here on Instagram and on our YouTube channel fufplay. At fuf.se/val2026 you will find all our party hearings, articles about politics and tips on more sources that describe the world's role in the Swedish election.
At fuf.se/val2026 you will find articles, party analysis At fuf.se/val2026 you will find articles, party analyses and links to FUF's hearings of the development aid policy spokespersons. But when you have read and looked at everything there and feel like you want to be even more educated, where do you turn? To our tips for more sources of course! Here are some of them, but you will find even more at fuf.se. See you in the browser!
