Of: Rine Mansouri

Hello everyone! My name is Lovisa and during our Hi everyone! My name is Lovisa and I have done my internship at @sianiagri SIANI – Swedish International Agricultural Network Initiative as part of FUF's internship program this spring 🌿🌍 When I'm not at SIANI, I'm studying the master's program in Rural Development and Natural Resource Management at SLU in Uppsala – perfect for me who wants to work interdisciplinary with agriculture, social development and environmental issues. SIANI is a network that works for sustainable, rights-based and inclusive food systems globally. During the internship, I have worked with communication, events and supported and coordinated projects – most notably with the ASAPP project, where I helped produce a publication that highlights examples of agroecology around the world 🧑‍🌾📄 It has been incredibly educational to gain insight into the complex interaction between all actors working to change our global food system. Through the internship, I have gained new perspectives, contacts and strengthened my self-confidence in my future role in the development sector. 📌 And to those of you who are thinking about applying for FUF's internship program: Do it! It's a fantastic chance to try out different roles, build networks and find what you want to contribute in the future. Picture 2: The Agroecology Day in Alnarp that I was able to help coordinate 🍃 Picture 3: A lot of the time has been spent in the office but it's nice to sometimes be able to join meetings digitally ⌨️ Picture 4: Me and my colleague Ebba at the Uppsala Career Day where we talked about SIANI and their work for students📚
– In these days, when even Europe and Western – In these days, when even Europe and the West are being haunted by right-wing populists, there are many in Europe, the US and the Middle East who, like a Malik Ben-Nabi or a Theodor Herzl, can help us see Europe's double standards. Voices that can be invited to educate the governments of Europe, the US and Israel in good governance. For four years, Ulf Carmesund has collaborated with three Palestinian civil society organizations on training courses on good governance for officials in municipalities and ministries in Gaza and the West Bank. Now he wonders if perhaps they are not the ones who should be invited to educate leaders in Europe and the US. The time has come to listen to those we betrayed. Hello everyone! My name is Katrin Kamph and I am Hi everyone! My name is Katrin Kamph and I am an intern at @sidasweden now during the spring semester of 2025. I am in my last semester of my Bachelor's degree in Politics with a specialization in economics in Uppsala. I belong to the Chief Economist Team (CET) and this means that I work together with Sida's Chief Economist. We are a support function that works across the entire organization and are not limited to a specific geography/theme. What am I allowed to do at my workplace then? Yes! For example, there is currently a number of analytical works being done aimed at analyzing multidimensional poverty in different contexts. What I have done is help with workshops, produced support material and also made graphs and tables of different development trends. Another slightly less technical task I have had is to help with external visits from other organizations, the second picture is from when the World Bank's Global Director for Poverty and Equity visited Sida and discussed poverty. I am interested in market development, development financing and economic analysis. That is why it is very fun to be at both Sida and CET! #sida #fuf #development #economics
– Save the Children and other organizations may need – Save the Children and other organizations can treat Gaza's malnourished children, but we are not allowed to do our job. Instead, children are forced to eat animal feed and leaves to avoid dying, Save the Children wrote in a debate piece in Aftonbladet last week. The crisis in Gaza has dominated discussions about global issues on Swedish debate and editorial pages. Critics say that the Swedish government should do more to stop starvation and bloodshed, while government representatives point out that they are already working to curb suffering through dialogue with Israeli representatives and with aid efforts. Other texts draw attention to the effects of Europe's energy and technology dependence on authoritarian states, while Trump's foreign and trade policies continue to draw criticism.
