Sweden's presidency of the EU – The role of civil society

To signup "

Sweden will become chairman of the EU in the first half of 2023. The preparations have been going on for a long time and are currently extensive and intensive. Extra complicated is that this is happening just as Sweden changes government.

The preparatory work does not only include the Government Office, but alsoåsome others also want to influence the Swedish attitude towards this presidency. FUF has therefore invited representatives from CONCORD Sweden, which coordinates the efforts of a large number of organizations in this matter, for a conversation about the role of civil society.

How does civil society want Sweden to act during the presidency? How do they work to have the greatest possible impact on the Swedish agenda? And what opportunities and challenges do we face in terms of this presidency?

Under the direction of Lennart Wohlgemuth from FUF comes Peter Sörbom, policy advisor at CONCORD Sweden and Donna-Maria Maalouf, project manager at CONCORD Sweden, to present and discuss how they work with these issues.

The call starts at 12.00 and will be recorded. We offer coffee and sandwiches.

Welcome to us!

The event takes place at FUF's office. To get here, take the subway to Fridhemsplan or Rådhuset. From there it is about a 10-minute walk. You can also take bus 3 from Slussen and get off at the stop Polhemsgatan. The venue is half a flight of stairs down and unfortunately there is no ear loop in the venue.
