PART 1: Sector Insights
KRISTINA PIHLBLAD BOHNERTH from IMPACT POOL
Since its inception in 2015, Impactpool has grown to become the world's fastest growing career platform. With the ambition to support highly qualified and motivated people to develop their careers and give international organizations such as the UN, EU, World Bank and large international NGOs access to the absolute best candidates, they have developed a unique service that attracts more and more applicants and organizations.
Kristina works as a coordinator for Impactpool's career fairs and webinars and is responsible for customer relations. She previously founded Impact Jobs Sweden and has a background in Sustainable Development. Kristina will tell us more about the platform, give her best tips and let us share the importance of developing a personal brand and how to stand out in an application process. Finally, she will discuss some things to think about and how to find or maintain your self-confidence in the job search and maintain a sustainable working life for yourself and your mental health.
ISAAC LARSSON from EU ACADEMY
Isac is Co-Executive Director of the EU Academy, an initiative run by the Global Policy Research Group with the aim of promoting Swedish representation within the EU institutions and increasing understanding of the EU's work. Through lectures by experienced EU officials, diplomatic study visits and practical elements such as simulations and workshops, the program creates a concrete path into the EU's career system for young professionals.
During the career seminar, Isac will talk about how initiatives like the EU Academy can serve as a concrete stepping stone into the EU institutions. By combining policy understanding with practical experience, the program builds bridges between academia and working life, and shows how Swedish young professionals can take their place in the future of the EU.
PART 2: My path to the development jobs
OMRAN KHASAWNEH is a program officer at the Swedish Dialogue Institute in Amman, where his focus areas include EU–MENA relations, the role of women and youth in peacebuilding (WPS and YPS agendas), green transition, AI and intercultural dialogue. He has previously worked within Swedish civil society with a focus on global sustainable development, the WPS agenda and diversity and inclusion. He holds a double bachelor's degree in Semitic languages and development studies from Uppsala University, where he is currently studying an online master's degree in theology with a focus on religion in peace and conflict.
ELIN GUNNARSSON is a foreign and security policy officer at the Permanent Representation of Sweden to the European Union, based in Brussels. She has previously been a trainee at the General Secretariat of the Council of the European Union and an investigation secretary in a government public investigation at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs. She has also held full-time student union assignments at the University of Gothenburg and board assignments within, among others, Individual Human Support (IM). Elin has a Master's degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor's degree in Global Studies from the University of Gothenburg.
JULIA CARLZON is a communicator at Oxfam Sweden, with a focus on economic inequality, climate equality and corporate responsibility for human rights. In parallel, she is studying a master's degree in human rights and democracy at Enskilda University of Applied Sciences, Stockholm. Julia has previously been a board member at FUF, committed to corporate responsibility and the rights of vulnerable EU citizens in Sweden in Amnesty groups. She has also worked as a correctional officer and member recruiter. Julia has a bachelor's degree in human rights from Enskilda University of Applied Sciences, Stockholm.
