Does aid benefit Afghanistan?

Welcome to a seminar on the effects of aid in Afghanistan. Many countries and organizations have been conducting aid in Afghanistan, both humanitarian aid and more long-term development cooperation, since the fall of the Taliban regime in 2001. This seminar will shed light on and try to answer questions such as:

• What is the use of aid when parts of the country are at war?
Is it possible to conduct effective aid in a country with widespread corruption?
• How do you conduct development assistance that benefits women and girls when society is characterized by patriarchal values?

contribute:
Adam Pain, Visiting Professor, Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences
Andreas Stefansson, Secretary General, Swedish Afghanistan Committee
Karin Kronlid, development analyst, Sida
Bengt Ekman (moderator), board member, Swedish Afghanistan Committee

The seminar is organized by the Swedish Afghanistan Committee in Stockholm and FUF. The seminar is a cultural event in collaboration with Folkuniversitetet.

The seminar is held in English.
