The majority of the world's population is religious, and this proportion is expected to increase in the future. Religious teachings and leaders have a great influence on individuals as well as on societies and world events. Despite this, understanding of the role of religion in development processes is often limited, and religion is often treated more as a subject than as a method. In development cooperation, religion can have a central role as a tool for creating the conditions for development – something that more and more non-faith-based organizations realize.
What can the role of religion as a development aid tool look like? What are the most important success factors and challenges in interreligious cooperation? VaWhat can we learn from working on normative issues in collaboration with religious actors? And can faith contribute to the preservation of biodiversity?!
