The world is facing major challenges in a time characterized by conflicts, climate change and increasing inequalities. Today lives 1,1 billion people in acute multidimensional poverty, and the funding gap for sustainable development has increased as a result of global crises and growing needs. At the same time, pressure is increasing on the UN to deliver effective solutions in a world where national priorities often conflict with global needs.
How can the UN system become more relevant and effective in meeting these challenges? What role does the Dag Hammarskjöld Foundation play in the Swedish contribution to international peace and development? How does the fund prioritize its work at a time of increasing global tensions and with new political priorities?
