"Conflict minerals" has become the name for minerals and metals whose extraction supports and contributes to conflicts. Despite headwinds, Latin American women are fighting hard to be heard, to demand and to defend their rights. Two of these women are the indigenous leader Guillermina Kuno Huanca from Bolivia and the smallholder leader Luz Dary Molina from Colombia. They come to Sweden to talk about the situation for rural women in each country and about their organizations' work to strengthen women's participation in society and politics. FUF and the Latin American groups welcome you to a conversation about land, power and rights. The conversation is led by Marlene Sosa Mercado, program manager at the Latin American groups, and is interpreted from Spanish to Swedish.

In Sweden, 270 Nicaraguans sought asylum last year. That is three times more than last year. One of them is Gabriela Pichardo, a university student who was involved in organizing the protests against the regime in April last year. She was later arrested and subjected to degrading and illegal interrogations for several days before being released and fleeing the country.
