The outside world is protesting in solidarity with the Ukrainian people

Protesters around the world have taken to the streets to express their support for Ukraine. DN's report raises several voices in the protests with emotional statements about the war that prevails.

This weekend, hundreds of demonstrations were organized around the world against the war in Ukraine. Demonstrations were held in London, Berlin, Calcutta and Gothenburg, among other places. On Sunday, 1 Russian protesters had been arrested in 748 cities in Russia, according to DN. In Berlin, at least 100 people took part in the demonstration on Sunday, according to the German newspaper Tagesspiegel.

- I think that Ukraine is Europe's backbone now, that they are fighting for Europe, says Kristina who participated in a demonstration in Gothenburg.

- It's a disaster; a tragedy and the Ukrainian people must be supported, says Ukrainian Tetyana Ravlyuk who took part in the protests in Milan along with hundreds of other people. 

- I have relatives and friends in Ukraine. They are really not feeling well now, says Oksana who took part in the Berlin demonstration.

- I feel desperate but there is not much I can do. But being here is at least something and a way for me to show where I stand and show my support, says Elena Schevenko, who is half Russian and half Ukrainian and who participated in a demonstration in London.
