About the organization
The Commercial Office of Ecuador in Stockholm is one of the 30 worldwide offices of the Ministry of Production, Foreign Trade, Investment and Fisheries www.produccion.gob.ec, in charge of export and investment promotion. The goal of PRO ECUADOR is to promote and increase the exports of Ecuadorian products and services abroad, attract Foreign Direct Investment, provide technical assistance and services to Ecuadorian companies, with emphasis in B2B contacts. The Commercial Office is part of the Embassy of Ecuador in Sweden and is in charge of export and investment promotion in the Nordic countries (Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway and Iceland), serving as the trade representative for commercial-related matters.
1 – Support the Trade Commissioner in the development of commercial intelligence reports that include collecting primary data, talking with Swedish organizations and private companies, and browsing trade and commercial intelligence databases.
2 – Support the Trade Commissioner in setting up meeting with potential importers for Ecuadorian products, and preparing trade-related data and presentations.
3 – Accompany and participate at diverse trade shows organized in Stockholm, as well as participate in field visits to companies.
4 – Assist the Office with the translation of documents from Swedish to English and viceversa.
5 – Assist the Office in the organization of events and coordinate with the diverse parties. involved.
6 – Assist the Office with research related matters regarding trade and investments.
1 – Communications skills. The candidate should be able to transmit ideas in a concise form both in English and Swedish, over email, phone and in face-to-face meetings.
2 – Writing skills in Swedish and English to write reports and create presentations. Spanish knowledge is a plus.
3 – Basic knowledge of trade (exports and imports).
4 – Proactivity and ability to multi-task.
5 – Background in International Business, Supply-Chain, International Relations, Business Administration, Public Policy is a plus.
6 – The candidate will be in contact with business counterparts; knowledge of business networks is a plus.

The internship will provide the candidate a unique experience on how trade and foreign direct investment is conducted between countries. Working in direct cooperation with the Trade Commissioner, the candidate will learn on the day-to-day details on trade promotion and investment promotion activities, and learn about the main products that Ecuador exports to the Nordic countries. Candidate will learn about customs regulations, tariffs, procedures to export and import, regulations connected to incentives for investments, and how to manage and promote the image of a country in a foreign market.
